We are looking for a Director - Data Engineering to Architect and build our enterprise data lake house and data analytics. You will lead a team of Sr. Data engineers and Sr. Data analysts as they work on functions like Data Platforming, Data Delivery, and Business Intelligence.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of managing data teams and delivering complex data pipelines, models, and warehouses. This person is also responsible for expanding and optimizing our data warehouse architecture and optimizing for cost and performance. They have experience collaborating with multiple departments and stakeholders in addressing their data needs and the ability to lead change and communicate with a wide variety of audiences, both technical and business.


  • Own in collaboration with other department heads regarding the data and AI platform architecture, ensuring security, functionality, and integration with all core data
  • Design, build and lead a high-quality Data Engineering team that is responsible for executing our vision & product roadmap using agile practices, including team SLA's
  • Design and document the data warehouse architecture and data models for new and existent data sources.
  • Perform trade-off analysis of different architecture tactics and patterns, providing justification of architectural decisions
  • Develop and operationalize enterprise-wide data policies, standards, and procedures
  • Utilize Agile methodologies to manage, lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic and tactical business outcomes
  • Drive data security program to ensure that PeopleReady uses security protection techniques in compliance with required legal and regulatory policy
  • Partner closely with the senior/executive leadership to optimize the delivery of data insights, and the realization of business value
  • Keep pace with the changing business environment, technology, and data innovation to optimize data value and mitigate risks


  • 7+ years of AWS Cloud platform experience leading and inspiring effective data engineering teams building scalable data and analytics
  • Profound understanding of data warehouse modeling approaches
  • Strong experience in modern cloud data architecture in Redshift and data modeling for machine learning and analytics
  • Communication and leadership experience, with experience initiating and driving large Initiatives
  • Must have skills in draft, analyze, and debug of Python and SQL scripts
  • Strong knowledge and experience with iterative software development processes and continuous delivery CI/CD
  • Experience with data governance and data security
  • Working in an Agile or Scrum environment with a cross-functional and globally distributed team, including offshore teams with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
