Citizens Bank is seeking an Analyst to join the Asset-Backed Securitization (ABS) business line within the Asset Backed Finance (ABF) group. The ABF group is part of Citizens' Capital Markets division. The Analyst will work with and support ABS team members in all aspects of non-mortgage securitization transaction origination, structuring, and execution, including both lending transactions and ABS bond underwriting roles. In certain circumstances, the Analyst may also help support the Corporate Credit Securitization (CCS) business which is also part of ABF. The Analyst will initially report to the Head of ABF and the role will be based in Stamford, CT.

Analyst's responsibilities will require significant and regular transaction involvement, from origination through closing, as well as the ability to work on multiple projects and transactions concurrently. The Analyst within the group will play a critical role on the deal team and interact directly with all ABS team members, other groups within Citizens Bank, and external constituents including clients. The ABS team conducts business with a variety of clients with transactions backed by a broad range of securitization asset classes including auto, equipment, fleet/rental car, credit cards, consumer loans, and transportation assets, among others.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support junior and senior team members in all aspects of deal marketing, origination, underwriting, and execution
  • Maintain transaction and market information database; perform market analysis and research with a focus on ABS market trends and development
  • Prepare external marketing materials and assist in the development of new business ideas and pitch strategies
  • Prepare various internal memoranda including credit papers, ABS bond underwriting memos, and management reports
  • Participate in transaction due diligence calls and meetings, as appropriate
  • Develop proficiency in reading securitization legal documents and identifying key structural terms
  • Conduct detailed analysis and cashflow modeling related to the collateral which supports the securitization debt
  • Work collaboratively with key internal constituents including Portfolio Management and Credit Risk Management

Qualifications

  • Ability to function as part of a flat organization, manage several projects at once, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate manner
  • Demonstrated aptitude or willingness to master detailed securitization analytics including asset class specific methodologies and related cashflow/bond modeling
  • Self-starting team player who can think strategically and excel in a fast-paced and challenging work environment
  • High degree of maturity and integrity with a positive and hardworking attitude
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with related financial services software including S&P CapitalIQ, S&P Leveraged Commentary, Advantage Data, Bloomberg, Thomson Loan Connector, FactSet, etc. a plus

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance related major
