As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Warehouse & Pipelines team you will help design and implement our platform for ever increasing scale. As part of a fast moving agile team you'll make architectural decisions and implement large features. You will also work with other engineering and data science teams to build a consistent strategy and tools for Redfin's data needs.

ResponsibilitiesPlay a key role in Redfin's data strategy by leading development of our new centralized data lakeDrive our data platform and help evolve our technology stack using Airflow, Kubernetes, Spark, Apache Iceberg and multiple AWS technologiesWork with APIs and streaming data services to send and receive information between systemsWork across Redfin Engineering to build common tools for Big Data, Analytics, and Machine LearningAct as a thought leader, mentor teammates, and evangelize best practicesCollaborate with our partners across the business on requirements gathering, develop and test your code, implement new processes in production, then maintain and support them over time?Qualifications5+ years of experience in Python, Java, C# or other modern programming languages 3+ years of experience building and maintaining a scalable Big Data platform3+ years of experience with AWS and Data Lake creation tools (Apache Iceberg, AWS Lake Formation, Hudi, Data Bricks)Experience with both batch and streaming data pipelines, as well as API integration and development Experience with Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark is a plusAn entrepreneurial spirit, a drive to ship quickly, and familiarity with agile software development practicesThe ability to deal with ambiguity, communicate well with partner teams - both technical and non technical, and a strong empathy for the customer experienceExcellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skillsA strong passion for data and building data-driven solutions?What we offerCompetitive compensation packages with a salary, bonuses, and restricted stock grantsGenerous benefits, including three weeks of paid vacation, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and fully paid family leave A high-growth company, providing opportunities for continued professional development and growthTo make sure we hire the most qualified people, we've designed a multi-step selection process that may include interviews, a homework assignment, and a reference check. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operational business needs.

Depending on the position, compensation may also include commissions, bonuses, and equity. Potential for quarterly bonuses based on company performance. Potential for merit increases and stock grants based on performance.
