We build software to automate, optimize, manage, and maintain thoseservices; driving down technical debt, operational cost, and toil every step of theway.We are looking for a Senior Devops and Site Reliability Engineer to join us at oneof these locations: Boulder (CO), San Francisco/San Jose (CA), or Seattle (WA).

In thisposition, you will play a key role in building automation, standardization, meetingcompliance requirements, operations support, incident handling methodologiesand tools to implement and support world-class SaaS products. You willchampion efforts to improve security, reliability, and efficiency in theseenvironments and explore and lead efforts towards new strategies andarchitectures for pipeline services, infrastructure, and tooling. When necessary,you are comfortable wearing a developer hat to build a solution.

You arepassionate about automation and tools.Primary ResponsibilitiesWork with engineering team to design, build, maintain and support SaaS-based services. This includes being part of the on-call rotation, performing first-level of triage for issues reported from multiple sources (monitoring and alerting systems, customer bugs, support issues), interfacing with the development team to ensure we have proper coverage and resolution, etc.

Ensure that the SaaS services and associated infrastructure maintain required levels of security, availability, reliability, scalability, and performance to meet SLAs.Build incident management, operational monitoring, and alerting capabilities to proactively report, troubleshoot, and fix problems.Assist in achieving and maintaining industry security audit certifications (ISO, SOC2, HIPAA, etc.).

Build automation around the infrastructure and services used in product development, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.Research modern technology areas, innovations, and ideas.Knowledge, Skills, and ExperienceExperience setting up and using incident and on-call management systems.

Experience setting up and building tools to collect and visualize data (logs, metrics, alerts), building dashboards, alerting, and monitoring systems.Experience with deploying secure infrastructure and services in one or more cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.Experience with configuration management and deployment automation tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, etc.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.Strong understanding and experience working with CI/CD pipeline frameworks (Gitlab-CI, GitHub Actions, etc.).Experience with container (Docker) and orchestration systems (Kubernetes).

Solid understanding of Linux OS + systems administration skillsGood understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, load balancing, firewalling, etc.Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills.Dynamic collaborator who thrives in diverse, geographically distributed locales.

Team player that demonstrates diplomacy, promotion of sound ideas & concepts, paired with the desire to help others grow their skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Experience with NGINX technologies a strong plus.

QualificationsBachelor's (or higher level) degree in one or more of these disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.3+ years of professional experience as a SRE or Devops engineer.Note: The job description is intended to be a general representation of the responsibilities and requirements of the job.

base pay range for this position is: $144,815.00 - $217,223.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5's differing products, industries, and lines of business.
