Job summary
Come join the Hosted Feeds team! We are building a platform to render and host feeds for anyone who has inspirational content to show our customers. Our goal is to be Amazon's go to service to render feeds by building an easy to onboard, configurable, and hands off product. You bring the content, specify your configurations, and we'll give you a feed! Our feeds will be highly interactive and responsive to keep our Amazon shoppers engaged and coming back for more. We will help all of Amazon move faster with our library of React based UX templates and continually add to it as new use cases come up.

We are looking for a smart full stack developer that will work on designing highly scalable systems, executing the planning, and addressing operational improvements. We're looking for engineers that have a strong system delivery background, a well-rounded technical background, and demonstrated experience working on large scale projects. Customer obsession is a must, and individuals that enjoy rapid experimentation, have strong problem solving and communication skills, enjoy working with native AWS services, and thrive on solving open-ended business problems will fit right in with Inspirational Shopping. You should be comfortable working in an agile environment and collaborating with multiple teams ranging from product and design to development teams as well.?

Key job responsibilities
As part of the Hosted Feeds team, you will:?
Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable and extensible platforms and solutions using native AWS services.?
Focus on event-driven architecture, micro-services, infrastructure, and test automation.?
Provide inputs into product vision, technical design and implementation, and operational excellence.?
Work closely with client teams to define requirements and identify opportunities to improve integration with client teams' software.?
Influence long term technical vision and roadmaps.

  • 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  • 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C+, or C# including object-oriented design
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of industry experience building distributed systems and algorithms for commercial online services
  • Domain knowledge in data analytics, machine learning and large scale applications using objected oriented languages like Java.
  • Leadership abilities to drive results through self and other passionate developers in agile environment following best practices and mentoring other developers.
  • Strong desire to improve our customers shopping experience
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements, development, experimentation, launch and measurement
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audience
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers in all aspects of their engineering skillsets
