If you want an exciting and rewarding career that is meaningful, consider joining our diverse team!As a Global Drug Development (GDD) for IT organization, the Director of Data Products will be responsible for defining and executing the data product roadmap for World Wide Patient Safety (WWPS) and Regulatory. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT product managers, business stakeholders, engineering, and data sciences teams to develop and launch data and analytical products that address business needs and drive business growth.

Along with a team of talented colleagues globally (US and BMS India) you will deliver data and analytics capabilities for GDD WWPS and Regulatory (Patient Safety, epidemiology, Safety Ops, Regulator Affairs, Regulatory Ops).Key ResponsibilitiesAccountable for delivering high quality, data products and analytic ready data solutions for GDD Safety and Regulatory teams, including Patient Safety, epidemiology, Safety Ops, Regulator Affairs, Regulatory Ops. This individual will work closely with GDD IT leadership, WWPS and Regulatory teams to maximize value from data.

As a data product manager, he/she will be responsible for defining data product strategy and roadmaps, identification of product scope, feature stories, value proposition and success criteria for the data products.Lead the development of new data products, from ideation to launch, leveraging data science and engineering expertise, and work closely with business stakeholders to identify unmet needs and translate them into data product requirementsStrategy & Planning - Strategic focus on utilizing Data, Analytics, and emerging technology to advance Global Drug Development needs and accelerate Clinical Trials. Ability to create strategy, identify data & technology choices, influence technology and business investments and mobilize teams to successfully plan and deliver.

Responsible for managing a team of ~15 data professionals including Data Engineers, Data architect, Data product analysts, UX designer, scrum master etc.Responsible for defining product schedule, budget, and timely delivery of the data solutions.As a people lead, accountable for attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent and directing day to day activities of the team and partnering with US and India GDD data teamsClosely partner with the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform team, other functional data pods and Data Community leads to shape and adopt data and technology strategy.

Serves as the Subject Matter Expert on GDD Data & Analytics Solutions and build domain knowledge of the GDD specific areaAccountable for evaluating GDD Data enhancements and projects, and assessing capacity and prioritization along with onshore and vendor teamsKnowledgeable in evolving trends in Data platforms and Product based implementationManage and provide leadership for the resources supporting projects, enhancements, and break/fix efforts, and has End to End ownership mindset in driving initiatives through completionComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversightMentors other team members effectively to unlock full potentialPrior experience working in an Agile/Product based environmentProvides strategic feedback to vendors on service delivery and balances workload with vendor teamsStays current with emerging trends in specialty area. Identifies future state and dimensions of change (org, tech, cultural) to achieve. Creates transition plans for new processes, implements and monitor's change.

Ensures alignment of plans with the enterprise's strategic vision and translates the vision to connect to team's workQualifications & Experience10+ years of experience leading a data organization with accountability to deliver tangible business value through data and analytical solutions.8+ years of hands-on experience working on implementing and operating data capabilities and cutting-edge data solutions, preferably in a cloud environmentDemonstrated experience working with business stakeholders, and product managers to understand unmet needs and translate them into product requirements.Data Engineering: Familiarity with data engineering concepts, including data ingestion, data storage, data transformation, and data integration.

Ability to work with data engineers to ensure data quality, availability, and performance.Data Governance and Security: Understanding of data governance and security principles, including data privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance. Ability to implement and enforce data governance policies and procedures.

Agile Development Methodologies: Experience working in an agile development environment, including agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. Ability to manage a backlog, prioritize features, and deliver working software in an iterative manner.Product Management: Experience in product management, including product strategy, product roadmap development, feature prioritization, and product launch.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science teams.Data Visualization and Communication: Strong skills in data visualization and communication, including the ability to create compelling data visualizations and reports that tell a clear story and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Ability to leverage cloud-based services for data storage, processing, and analytics. Hands-on experience managing and delivering data solutions and data products with some of the technologies like AWS data services (Glue, Redshift, Athena, lake formation, etc.), Tableau etc. is a plus.Data Architecture: Understanding of data architecture principles, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data lakes.

Ability to design and implement data architectures that support data products and analytics solutions.Data Quality Management: Knowledge of data quality management principles, including data profiling, data cleansing, and data enrichment. Ability to ensure that data products are based on high-quality data.

SQL and Programming: Proficiency in SQL and programming languages, such as Python or R. Ability to write SQL queries, scripts, and code to extract, transform, and analyze data.Data Science and Analytics: Strong understanding of data science and analytics concepts, techniques, and tools, including machine learning, statistical modeling, data visualization, and data exploration.

Ability to work with data scientists and analysts to develop, test, and validate data models and algorithms. Strong demonstrated experience in exploring and successfully implementing emerging data technologies in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, AWS technology stack or relevant technologies.Functional knowledge or prior experience in Lifesciences Research and Development domain is a plusInitiates challenging opportunities that build strong capabilities for self and teamPeople manager level with supervisory responsibility for Individual Contributor and People Manager positionsDemonstrates a focus on improving processes, structures, and knowledge within the team.
