People manage up to 4 team managers as well as Application Architects and Senior Developers on the team; have regular 1:1s, provide feedback, and participate in year-end performance and merit reviews.Organize and execute on staffing strategies, help onboard new team membersPlan for and drive teams to add realized value within the project budgetEnsure your teams are adhering to best practices and designsSupport and coach new managers and other team members; provide technical guidancePartner closely with Product and Technology counterparts to ensure projects remain on track, on budget, and add quantitative value with the highest qualityCommunicate effectively, clearly, and thoroughly with the all project constituents Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that benefit your organizationAdvocate for innovative technologies, systems, and processes.Ensure teams have a deep understanding of customer problems and how to use the right technology to solve for them.

Drive team to create architectural design and execute project planning exercises, seeking feedback and input from the architect groupEnsure project designs meet the needs of our business, our team, and our technology and are always performant, scalable, and maintainable.Remain knowledgeable and passionate about various Agile and project management methodologies, willing to apply new concepts to solve problems.Ensure quality releases from the team by holding the team accountable to writing coded tests and testing coded solutions.

Conduct peer code reviews to enforce the use of standards, well-organized and efficient code, and adherence to Architectural design.Understand and support our products.Take initiative to learn the domain and surrounding/supporting featuresAnswer questions about the products and its codebaseRespond to and communicate Production issues timely and effectivelySupport releases to Production by communicating status, ensuring agreed-upon timelines are met, and flawless execution is delivered and documentedExperience you'll bringA BS in an engineering field or related software development experience8+ years of software development experience3+ years of management experienceExperience with teams building in both cloud-native and legacy systemsExperience with Agile methodologiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong change management skillsCulturally, you are A results-driven leader whose passion for people and Software Development encourages and motivates their team to perform their bestDedicated to the success of the whole team while prioritizing the growth of individual members of the teamCollaborative, a solid communicator, open to feedback, and work well with your team and business partnersA professional who knows how to drive business outcomes through cross-organizational collaboration and organized planningSomeone who enjoys hanging out with your team!The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position.

Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan.

Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
