This position is eligible for our Hybrid work schedule; whereas, the Team Member must live within reasonable commutable distance to our corporate offices in (Grand Rapids) Walker, MI to be able to work in office M-W, and optional work remote Th-F. Relocation assistance available to align with Hybrid schedule requirements.

Meijer is seeking an experienced Enterprise Quality Engineering Manager to lead and enable enterprise-wide governance of Quality Engineering best practices, standards & tooling across the organization. This includes leading quality initiatives in the digital transformation of our Retail, Digital Services, Mobile and SOA. This role will provide leadership of Test Automation, CI-CD, Performance Testing, Test Environments, and Test Data Management. Provide QE technical leadership supporting DevOps transformation for continuous delivery driving consistency, optimization and innovation in all specializations of Quality Engineering resulting in increased value and operational excellence.

What You'll be Doing (Responsibilities):

  • Define & enable Quality Engineering Best practices, Tooling and standardizations for enterprise-wide enablement of consistency and optimization.

  • Provide management and guidance to the Lead Architects in QE, Lead QE and QA Managers across the LOB's to utilize defined best practices and tooling.

  • Work with stakeholders and teams in each LOB and ART to enable continuous delivery in SAFe Agile and achieve alignment.

  • Enable modernization in Test Engineering with Test Automation, DevOps CI-CD, Performance Testing, Test Data Management and Test Environments.

  • Establish Metric Goals & measure to track and act on quality, speed and ROI.

  • Enable Dashboards & Reports for communication of execution Metrics that drive optimization of people, practices, and tools.

  • Collaborate & Communicate effectively with Enterprise Architects, Directors in Lines of Business, technical & non-technical stakeholders internal and external to the organization to build win-win partnerships.

  • Enable teams to adopt and mature Test Automation Tooling and increased, well-maintained Test Automation suites.

  • Partner with Site Reliability Engineers and Operations Support to drive Release Stability and Quality Process maturity.

  • Ensure adherence across teams to set practices, standards, techniques, and be a champion to Quality Engineering as a key enabler to product delivery success & driver of business value.

  • Drives engagement with Enterprise Architecture, ITS Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure deployment of applications.

  • Review capabilities in existing Test Automation, Test Environment & Test Data, Performance Testing and CI-CD periodically and improve continuously. Innovation is key to staying current.

  • Mentor and Coach business partners, vendors, QE Managers, Leads, Quality Engineers, SDETs, and ART roles to attain higher levels of DevOps maturity.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training is required

  • Certifications in SAFe Agile, Azure (or similar), Test Engineering a plus

  • Any equivalent certifications or education in Agile transformation, DevOps transformation, Cloud technologies a huge plus

  • 10+ years of experience in IT Quality Engineering practices, business systems development, including implementation and installation in an online environment.

  • 3+ years demonstrating leadership skills: Staffing, Managing QA Leads, and developing QA teams in a distributed model (onsite/offshore).

  • ?Proficient skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, relentless improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

  • ?Comprehensive experience with an enterprise Agile process, such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and DevOps Transformation.

  • Experience enabling Quality Engineering transformation and driving CI-CD at all levels of people, process and tools.

  • Proficient in SDLC, Quality Engineering best practices, Test Automation, CI-CD, Test Data Management, Performance Testing as applied to SAFe Agile model.

  • Experience testing in Continuous Integration, DevOps, Release Management, high frequency deployments.

  • Expert development of Test Strategy, Test Approaches, Test Management, Defect Management & RCA.

  • Excellent collaboration skills with stakeholders at all levels of the organization both technical & non-technical.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with ability to deliver presentations.
