At American Family, we are looking for a Senior Product Lead to join the UBI Telematics Development team in our Auto Center of Excellence, who will be passionate to drive existing and new UBI Telematics products and features to higher standards. The ability to define and refine value proposition, strategic positioning, and business case for the products and its features, a willingness to learn new skills, a voracious curiosity and the desire to collaborate with others to conceptualize, build and manage new & existing products across the portfolio to achieve our strategic intent and enterprise goals are the attributes that we're looking for in this position.
Job Description:

Primary Accountabilities

• Participate in market and consumer research, validation, and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for new and existing product features and functionalities

• Manage the product roadmap and backlog for assigned telematics products/programs and overall portfolio.

• Partner with business owners and agile product teams to build product roadmaps that will be incorporated into the broader company product portfolio plan

• Oversee and manage lead requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing

• Partner with the executive teams to identify key capabilities needed as well as identifying potential issues

• Partner with or lead cross functional teams (including partners from pricing/actuarial/filing, claims, legal/compliance, etc.) regularly to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritization

• Partner with IT to manage the roadmap and backlog to ensure that IT delivers all capabilities on time and per expectation

• Work with Go-to- Market partners to develop positioning and messaging to ensure differentiation from competitors and achieve target market goals

• Monitor and evaluate product performance to ensure constant product iteration and improvements

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in telematics, Usage Based Insurance (UBI) and/or digital product management or similar - Core
• Strong understanding of insurance product management preferably personal lines products across variety of distribution channels (captive, independent and direct) - Core
• Bachelor's in Business, Mathematics, Engineering, etc. MBA or Masters preferred.

Product Development

• Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills
• Usability and customer-focused design experience a plus
• Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems
• Working knowledge of market dynamics, products, and competitive climate
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Agile product owner experience writing functional requirements, including features, epics and user stories
• Experience in leading products built on digital, multi-tenant or similar IT platforms

Product Management

• Critical thinker who can creatively transform strategies into a vision via roadmaps, OKRs, KPIs.
• Experience working with and/or leading cross functional teams to define, prioritize and achieve high value business goals

General Leadership

• Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong verbal and written skills.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10% of the time.
