Team: Relativity is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software engineer to join the Mission Assurance and Vehicle Simulation Software team. You will work with top talent from diverse industries and leading companies such as SpaceX, Google, Amazon to name a few. You'll play a key role in designing and building systems to configure and test our Terran-R rocket supporting our stakeholders including Avionics, Guidance Navigation and Control, Propulsion, Test and Launch Operations.

MAVS team is at the forefront of driving Relativity Space towards our mission of a multiplanetary future, from changing how we manufacture rockets to how we fly them.What you'll do: You will drive design and development of our team's software consisting of:Hardware-in-the-loop test software infrastructureHardware-out-of-the-loop (Software-in-the-loop) test software infrastructureVehicle proxyVehicle configurationVehicle software deploymentIn your role you will:Define and refine software requirements with stakeholders and partner teamsWrite Concept of Operations and Software Design DocumentsAdvocate best practices for unit and system integration tests in CI/CDMaximize the team's velocity by improving development processes, promoting best practices, integrating modern tools and technologies, and mentoring engineersSupport stakeholder teams to adopt tools and systems to verify vehicle configuration and ensure reliable deployments of vehicle systemsScale our systems and processes to rapidly iterate development of the Terran-R rocket and enable successful launchesWhat you need to know: Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in software developmentExpert knowledge in one of the following with some familiarity of others: modern C+, Rust, Python, JavaFamiliarity with containerization and deployment technologies like Kubernetes and DockerExperience with continuous integration and agile developmentProficiency in developing software for Linux or Unix OssPassion to promote best development and testing practicesExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience with cloud services on platforms such as AWS, GCP or AzureCustomer focus to improve your customers experiencesTrack record of architecting extensible systems to meet team objectivesNice to haves but not required: Experience developing RESTful frameworksExperience with front end framework like React, Angular or VueExperience working with simulated and emulated hardwareRelativity Space offers competitive salary and equity, a generous vacation policy, an annual L&D stipend and more!
