*Overview* The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Graduate Fellowship Program (NGFP) has become a premier channel for bringing top talent to our nation's critical security missions and providing unique opportunities for fellows to: (1) work alongside leading experts at NNSA program and site offices; (2) participate in exclusive professional development, networking, and training opportunities; and (3) engage with national security stakeholders and support leading events and activities around the world. To learn more about the site locations, visit: https://www.energy.gov/nnsa/locations Responsibilities* NGFP gives highly motivated, graduate-level students a full year of: + Real-world experience to prepare for a career in national security + Opportunities to make significant contributions to the nation + Specialized training, leadership and career development, and networking + Collaboration with professionals and leading researchers nationally and internationally Fellows support a range of mission areas, including but not limited to nuclear security and nonproliferation policy and technology, national security research and development, and business and project management. Electronic applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. (PST) on the posting close date Qualifications* Minimum Qualifications + Be matriculated/enrolled in a graduate degree program at an accredited college or university at the time of application OR + Have completed a graduate degree program within 18 months (ie after April 7, 2021) prior to the application deadline AND + Have a final and current cumulative GPA of at least a 3.00/4.00 in the graduate degree program + Selected applicants enrolled in Fall semester/quarter with no previous graduate-level grades must supply official transcripts demonstrating eligibility (minimum 3.

0 GPA) no later than January 14, 2023 + Be a U.S. citizen eligible for a security clearance + Available to work full time for the duration of the one-year fellowship (June 2023 - June 2024) Preferred Qualifications Pursuing or having completed a master's degree or PhD in a STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics) or policy field. Selected Fellows will be placed in a salary level correlative with their education: + Level I - Master's in Progress + Level II - Completed Master's or Pursuing a PhD or JD + Level III - Completed PhD or JD.

Requirements:.U.S. Citizenship. Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance 10 CFR 710, Appendix B Drug Testing: All Security Clearance (L or Q) positions will be considered by the Department of Energy to be Testing Designated Positions which means that they are subject to applicant, random, and for cause drug testing.

In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP). Note: Applicants will be considered ineligible for security clearance processing by the U.S. Department of Energy until non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for 12 consecutive months can be demonstrated Testing Designated Position* Yes.
