The PBWM Learning Technology Strategy Lead is a senior leader who sets the learning and performance support technology strategy and direction for PBWM Learning, a large L&D organization comprised of the following core functions: Learning Experience Design, Learning Advisory, Delivery, Leadership & Career Development, Project & Change Management. This individual will report directly to the head of Learning Experience Design (LXD) in the PBWM Learning organization and matrix into the Head of the Digital Learning and Talent Technology (DLTT) organization. The LXD team is a sophisticated and technology-enabled function that is transforming to mobilize the 3Es of Learning - experience, exposure and education (70/20/10) - to provide user-friendly learning in support of job performance at the moment of need. The PBWM Learning Technology Strategy Lead will play a key role in supporting this transformation.

The PBWM Learning Technology Strategy Lead is an individual contributor. They are accountable for defining and overseeing the execution of the PBWM Learning technology strategy. They will partner closely with- and utilize technology support resources from-the DLTT, Global Functions Technology (GFT), and HR Shared Services (HRSS) teams to deliver on the work. Strong program management skills are critical for the role, as this individual will be tasked with managing a comprehensive and diverse portfolio of work. The PBWM Learning Technology Strategy Lead will be responsible for the evaluation and implementation of new technology as well as ensuring/driving the sustainability and optimization of PBWM Learning's existing technology infrastructure. They will serve as a center of expertise for the PBWM Learning team and the PBWM business. The PBWM Learning Technology Strategy Lead will work closely with learning and business stakeholders, advising on learning and performance support technology trends and solutions to help drive learner and business performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides thought leadership and strategic direction for the PBWML technology roadmap and annual book of work
  • Oversees/Ensures execution of a large multi-faceted portfolio of cross-functional technology initiatives
  • Consults/Provides technology advisory support to learning and business stakeholders to solve problems and drive continuous PBWM learner and business performance improvement
  • Contributes to strategic discussions; helps translate business ideas into actionable technology strategies and plans. Balances innovative thinking with pragmatism.
  • Promotes good working relationships across projects, exemplifying the people skills needed to develop trust and communication among stakeholders
  • Consults with business partners to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis
  • Partners closely with support organizations (DLTT, GFT, HRSS) to resource technology initiatives and help define project scope and objectives
  • Manages strategic vendor relationships and influences the roadmap where appropriate
  • Stays current on available learning technologies and leverages expertise to develop learner centric learning and performance support solutions
  • Advances the learning technology offerings at Citi by enabling best in class systems and processes in alignment with future trends


  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with learning technologies, specifically digital content authoring and delivery platforms (LMS, LXP, LCMS, etc.)
  • Strong technical and learning acumen/experience
  • Program Management experience, specifically in the learning domain
  • Minimum of 5 years people and process management
  • Strong consulting and relationship building skills
  • Experience managing vendor relationships
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, influencing, and conflict management skills.
  • Adept at networking and building relationships with all levels of management and staff
  • Capable of performing effectively in complex situations with limited guidance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment, across multiple time zones and countries
  • Ability to translate end user needs into technical requirements
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing project budgets.

Education Level

Bachelor's/University degree or experience equivalent. Master's degree desired.
