The position will handle product owner/technical product manager responsibilities for Optum Insight Risk and Quality Payer team involving client data intake management, member care management, digital solutions, and assistance to portal teams. The Product Owner will define business and system requirements as well as writing quality features and user stories that adhere to acceptance criteria standards and are clearly understood by business stakeholders and Scrum team members. The Product Owner will also work with technical and operational resources to deliver the client commitment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders and partners to gather, analyze and define business requirements
  • Document, understand and communicate business requirements
  • Write high quality features and user stories within agile framework to maximize engineering productivity and build a healthy backlog
  • Serve as core member of scrum team and lead feature and user story grooming sessions
  • Provide subject matter expertise which includes recognizing and analyzing gaps between current situation vs desired outcome
  • Utilize appropriate resources to obtain information, consider solutions and deliver the solution
  • Understand, interpret, and develop product business models, including value propositions and desired business benefits
  • Conduct business, functional, technical, and data analysis to define product requirements for all aspects of healthcare applications including mapping, data schema definition, data verification, data quality, data load, end to end flows, UAT and testing
  • Ability to engage matrix partner teams (Technology, Facilities, Operations, Training, Reporting Product, Quality, Legal, Regulatory, etc.) to effectively deliver on each project
  • Design and build recommended business and operations solutions and process improvement through analysis of regulatory requirements and implementation of proposed designs using agile and other methodologies
  • Ensure prompt escalation of challenges/issues that will impact the business and initiative delivery
  • Develop a good health care knowledge and understanding of Risk and Quality health care business
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Business teams and engineering teams on product features build
  • Lead release planning in partnership with product managers and scrum team

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of demonstrable experience working as a Product owner or Business analyst in healthcare operations
  • 3+ years of working with stakeholders, partners and gathering requirements
  • 3+ years of Agile methodology techniques, ceremonies, and reporting measures
  • 1+ years of healthcare industry experience
  • Experience working with cross - functional teams and the ability to bridge gaps in understanding, and moving the team towards a common delivery
  • Experience in current technology trends, technical solutioning and working with SQL
  • Understanding relational databases and data structures
  • Proven analytic skills, troubleshooting issues, and providing recommendations to upper management
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment and produce results in a timely manner

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
