Optum Connect IT Performance Services team provides engineering and IT consulting and services to both payer and provider health care markets with over 120+ IT Services. We are engaging with clients in a range of Partnership Options across Infrastructure, Security, Business Management, Application and Data Services. The delivery and engineering team includes global service teams. Emphasis is on developing people and products through modern IT and engineering processes.

Our team directly interfaces with delivery teams supporting day-to-day IT Operations at each client. Driving the definition and implementation of a Transformation Roadmap to support our client's most critical business objectives, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation. Implementing the Optum capability strategy, defining best practices and shared service models driving improved, cost-effective performance is at the core of our team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on Azure cloud methodologies, standards, and best practices
  • Implement solutions on Azure cloud framework to address application migration
  • Analyze application based on determined capabilities, business value, technical fit, total cost of ownership, resiliency, ALM position, and then confirms plausible outcomes for that application (consolidate, modernize, retirement).
  • Compare various architectural options and propose a solution that meets functional and non-functional requirements
  • Document implementation approach and demo solutions
  • Identify and communicate risks, assumptions, issues and decisions throughout entire project
  • Proactively design shared assets to promote re-use

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience implementing cloud solutions for mid/large Enterprises
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Migration of infrastructure, data and applications out of legacy data centers into Azure cloud and hybrid environments (public and private)
  • Hands-on experience using any Cloud Assessment and Migration tools to evaluate client workloads, qualify applications suitable for migration from a business and financial perspective
  • Experience in implementing IT Application Portfolio rationalization for mid and large size Enterprise
  • Experience implementing application architecture adaptation and reengineering to take full advantage of the benefits of the cloud
  • Experience with CI/CD and configuration management tools and technologies, including Chef, Ansible, Jenkins etc.
  • Experience analyzing systems and identify problems, evaluate, design solutions, and document
  • Knowledge of development methodologies of one or more of the following languages: Java, .Net
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools and methodologies, CloudFormation, CDK or Terraform
  • Adept at working in Agile methodologies
  • Ability to provide guidance on Azure cloud methodologies, standards, and best practices
  • Ability to quickly adapt to several functional environments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to conduct demos for leadership and stake holders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Certified Solutions Architect or Equivalent
  • Good analytical and self-learning skills and the desire to learn new technologies
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups of business and technical stakeholders
  • Work both independently and as a team member

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900.
