Position Summary

We are seeking a Sr Systems/Network Administrator to join our team. As the Sr Systems/Network Administrator, you will provide design, maintenance, installation, and support for the company's internal infrastructure. The candidate must be able to monitor and maintain the systems/network infrastructure, discuss the need for changes and feasibility of projects recommended by users. Furthermore, keeping on top of new technological trends and making recommendations on how to incorporate those new technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and future planning needs of the company's infrastructure
  • Responsible for systems/network infrastructure including cabling, switches, routers, and telephony
  • Evaluate new technology and make recommendations to management on its benefits/use
  • Consult with the IT Infrastructure Manager to support and design infrastructure expansion and integration projects
  • Monitor the performance of the company's infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency
  • Evaluate applications and software patches for infrastructure devices to see if they meet security policy and solve ongoing issues
  • Maintain infrastructure and ongoing internal customer systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively convey issues and ideas to all levels of employees/contractors and management
  • Relevant, hands-on technical experience in support of employee and client computing needs
  • Proven track record with providing support in the technical arena
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of IT concepts (eg, encryption, role-based permissions, capacity, latency, etc.)
  • Firewall and Networking equipment configuration experience
  • Migration of Active Directory (AD) accounts and Office 365 tenants
  • Experience with integration of diverse server environments and types (eg, on-prem to cloud)
  • Initiative and decision-making ability
  • Required to be available after hours for operational problems requiring urgent handling
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Handling sensitive/confidential communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree desired
  • MCSE, CCNA Certification desired
  • 5+ years of network/systems engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability in infrastructure, network architecture and systems design
  • Proven ability to offer high level systems support in an enterprise environment
  • Proven ability to maintain a clean and professional IT environment
  • Proven ability to relate well in a constructive manner to management and staff
