We're looking for a passionate and talented Senior Data Engineer to join our rapidly growing People Analytics team that will design and build the infrastructure needed for the team to both automate existing reporting and deploy maintainable advanced analytics solutions, including real-time analytics and machine learning. You'll be a key player in the team's evolution, responsible for leading the development of data architecture needed for the team to design, build, and deploy cutting-edge analytics solutions, which will have massive impact by improving BCGers' lives, solidifying BCG as the employer of choice, and growing BCG as a business.

Understanding business and analytics needs and designing an architecture solution to meet those needs
Successfully distilling complex infrastructures and processes into simple, clear visualizations and able to explain sophisticated data concepts in an understandable manner
Optimizing and enhancing computational efficiency of platforms supporting algorithms & analytics
Juggling competing priorities, including prioritizing your own work and seeking input where required
Guiding non-technical teams, with experiencing applying analytics at scale, infrastructure as code, and best practices for robust product development
Brainstorming and working jointly as a team, but you can also own your work and drive activities independently. You seek feedback and development and take ownership for mistakes.
You are skilled in:
Database modelling - applying database modelling concepts (eg ER diagrams), database modelling tools and languages using database connection tools and methods for SQL databases (eg dbt, MySQL)
Data cleansing, data curation, data harmonizing & packaging - cleaning data, identifying relationships between data, pattern recognition and web scraping
Data engineering - data manipulation and productization of the use of data. Topics include dimension reduction, feature engineering, tagging/annotation
Descriptive and diagnostic analytics and reporting
Development and coding skills, including modular coding & pipeline automation, integration programming, source Code management, development tools
In addition to the skills/strengths identified above, candidates must have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant field
4-6 years within relevant domain of Data Engineering, with work experience delivering analytics solutions in a commercial setting
Experience working with Agile development methodologies and ceremonies
Fluency in SQL-based technologies (eg PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (eg Neo4j)
Commercial experience supporting deployment of machine learning algorithms (ML Ops)
You will work on the Advanced Analytics cadre within the NAMR People Analytics Team. You and your colleagues will combine innovative skillsets in computer science, artificial intelligence, statistics and machine learning with deep industry expertise. Along with this cadre, you will work with the Business Analytics and Enablement cadre to own the full analytics value-chain end to end: framing new business challenges, building fact-bases, designing innovative algorithms, creating scale through designing, building, and deploying of analytics solutions, and training colleagues and clients on new solutions.
You will also work closely with the global Data Factory team, members of the NAMR People Team, and analytics colleagues in other regions. You will have significant exposure to and help drive impact on behalf of the North America Leadership Team (NALT). Depending on your project mix at a given time, you will work closely with specific colleagues in functions, geographies, or business units to drive priorities forward.
