WHAT YOU'LL DO As a part of BCG GAMMA A&S (Specialty Consulting Team), you will partner with broader BCG teams on
a diverse range of advanced analytics topics. You will have the opportunity to leverage analytical
methodologies to deliver value to BCG's Consulting (case) teams and Practice Areas (domain)
through providing analytics subject matter expertise, and accelerated execution support.
You will collaborate with strategy and analytics focused teams to gather requirements, specify,
design, develop, deliver, and support analytic solutions serving client needs. You will provide
technical support and advisory through deeper understanding of relevant data analytics solutions
and processes to build high quality and efficient analytic solutions YOU'RE GOOD AT Leading team of data analysts and working with case (and proposal) teams:
  • Working with project stakeholders to identify business needs and gather requirements for data analysis or deployment of already existing advanced analytics solutions and BI tools
  • Leading communication and managing analytics workflow and ensuring quality of team's output
  • Scoping & delivering projects with minimal guidance; managing risks
  • Proactively and autonomously guiding case teams and clients in selection of solution approach, including description of expected deliverables and effort/delivery timeframe
  • Establishing oneself as a go-to expert in at least one business domain or analytics topic & is being considered an SME on the same for case/topic teams
  • Being the Brand ambassador for analytics in BCG (proposals, demos, PoCs, networking with case teams, etc.)
  • Developing extensive go to market content and drive commercialization of analytics topics/capabilities
  • Providing mentorship to their own/working (ie, project) team members and is effectively able to bring together diverse skill sets and multi-cultural teams
  • Deploying their own and (working) team's time and resources in an efficient, cost conscious manner with case team to ensure that scope & timelines are feasible
  • Conceptualizing and owning end-to-end internal project/initiatives/cross-topic/cross region/global priorities
  • Being involved in Analyst and Senior Analyst recruiting process where needed
Thinking Analytically:
  • Being strong in analytical solutioning with hands on experience in advanced analytics delivery, through the entire life cycle of analytics skills with the ability to develop and codify knowledge and provide analytical advice where required
Communicating with confidence and ease:
  • Being a clear and confident communicator presenting to and engaging effectively across all levels of seniority with strong and effective written and verbal communication.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in statistics (concepts and methodologies) and its application
  • Hands-on data mining and predictive modeling experience (clustering/classification using decision trees, linear/logistic regression, chatbots, custom vision applications etc.)
  • Strong experience in at least one of the prominent cloud providers (Azure, AWS,GCP) and working knowledge of auto ML solutions (Sage Maker, Azure ML etc.)
  • Solid foundation of SDLC best practices and experience working in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Preferred hands-on experience in at least one of the prominent DevOps solutions to build and deploy enterprise-ready and at scale solutions (Kubernetes, Airflow, CircleCI etc.)
  • At least one tool in each category:
    • Programming language - Python (must have), SQL (must have), (R Or SAS)
    • Data Visualization (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, etc.)
    • End-End Data management - ETL/ELT tools (Matillion/Informatica/Alteryx), Data quality and evaluation tools (Trifecta), traditional databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2), Cloud native databases (Redshift, Synapse, BigQuery)
    • ML Deployment tools (Airflow, Luigi etc.)
    • Big data technologies (Hadoop ecosystem, Spark)
    • Data warehouse solutions (Teradata, Azure SQL DW/Synapse, Redshift, Bigquery etc.)

Functional Skills:
  • Expertise in leading and building analytical solutions through its entire life cycle; and delivering tangible business value for clients (similar to the use cases below):
    • Price optimization, Promotion effectiveness, Product assortment optimization and salesforce effectiveness, Personalization/Loyalty programs, Labor optimization
    • CLM and revenue enhancement (segmentation, cross-sell/up-sell, next product to buy, offer recommendation, loyalty, LTV maximization and churn prevention)
  • Bachelor/Master's degree in a field linked to business analytics, statistics or economics, operations research, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • At least 6-8+ years of relevant industry work experience providing analytics solutions in a commercial setting or 4-6+ years of consulting experience with advance degree
  • Prior work experience in a global organization, preferably in a professional services organization in data analytics role
  • Demonstrated depth in one or more industries not limited to but including Retail, CPG, Healthcare, Telco etc.
