Job Description:

Joining our Financial Services Internal Audit practice is an opportunity to assist our clients with transforming governance, maintaining compliance and meeting goals and expectations. Our Financial Services Internal Audit Managers embed themselves into our client team projects that seek to measure conformance to operational baselines, regulatory frameworks, and organizational expectations. Most frequently, we work hand in hand with an organization's Internal Audit function to not only provide day-to-day support (such as performing independent evaluation of specific areas of financial services organizations' operations, from finance to lending to wealth management, as well as verify resolution of previously identified issues) but also to become a trusted partner with the client. Our Managers work with their assigned client and Crowe field team to review risks and controls and design program steps to evaluate them, execute internal audits and issue remediation, hold work sessions with client stakeholders, and craft recommendations that apply to the client's specific control environment.

Example tasks that you will encounter in this role include the following:

• Designing program steps to assess audit and process areas
• Leading and/or participating in client walkthroughs to assess control design
• Performing control testing, utilizing client and/or Crowe-specified audit methodology to document activities and results
• Writing comprehensive audit and other value-add observations
• Providing and presenting audit observations to your internal audit colleagues, client management and senior leadership teams
• Performing technical review of audit and consulting workpapers
• Energetically engaging with the client internal audit team
• Supervising and providing guidance to a team

Qualifications:

Educational and Professional Credentials

• Bachelor's Degree is required; major in Accountancy or Finance is preferred
• Audit experience working in or with the financial services sector required
• Professional Certification or working toward CPA or CIA preferred
• Regulatory oversight agency experience a plus

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• 5 - 10 years of experience in the areas of operational and financial internal audit, internal controls assessment, or regulatory examination.
• Strong written and verbal communication and comprehension both formally and informally to our clients and our teams, in a variety of formats and settings, including in interviews, meetings, calls, e-mails, reports, process narratives, presentations, etc.
• Internal control design and effectiveness understanding
• Strong project management skills and ability to engage in multiple projects at once
• Ability to supervise and provide guidance to small teams
• Deep understanding of operational and financial risks and controls at financial institutions
