This is a Lead Mechanical Design Engineering position in the Completions engineering group, responsible for VIP completions of new large cabin Gulfstream business jets. Project management responsibilities involve coordinating activities for technical personnel, establishing and communicating clear project performance expectations. Candidate will be responsible for reviewing models, drawings, analysis, and reports to ensure customer specifications are met. Individual must be willing to train and mentor others in engineering design and to review the work of others for accuracy and quality. Future growth for this position includes increased levels of people leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities of the group include new and derivative designs of interior furnishings and wire harnesses as part of outfitting new business jet aircraft. Example designs include custom cabinetry such as galleys, lavatories, closets and other storage compartments, interior peripheries, water/waste systems, entertainment equipment installations, and seating installations. Additional responsibilities include managing interior weight, design for manufacturing, and controlling part and manufacturing costs.

Candidates should have working knowledge of AutoCAD and CATIA V5. Candidate must have strong project management skills and be able to work with various internal groups and external suppliers. Excellent time-management and communication skills (oral and written) are a must. This is a fast paced manufacturing environment where schedule and budget goals need to be met.

Assignments are executed under the direction of the Engineering Group Head or Manager to meet Engineering, Certification and manufacturing schedules. Analysis methods and design standards to be employed are consistent with company standards and accepted industry methods. Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors Degree in engineering, a related curriculum required.or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
. 5 years related engineering experience with Bachelors. Masters Degree Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years or Ph.D. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 4 years.
